So, due to the fact that I'm not quite as anonymous as I'd like to be on the internets anymore, I've F-locked any posts of a personal nature.  I'll keep icons (and anything graphics-related) unlocked, along with random quizzes and crap like that.  Not that there are a lot of those these days, although I would like to get back into iconing when I've got some time.  Whenever that will be.

Basically, if anyone out there is reading about my private life, I'd like to know who.  Not that I have any illusions that there are many folks out there who read this little LJ of mine, but, well, you know....

I've spent a ridiculous amount of time and energy trying to track down the rest of The Professionals on DVD.  I've tried multiple different stores in multiple different suburbs.  I've tried online stores - and had even ordered S2 from one which appeared to have it in stock (unlike everywhere else)...alas, backorder.

And then I remembered eBay.  I've spent so much time avoiding the place (trying to save money) for the past two years, that I'd completely forgotten it was a bargain hunter's (and lazy sod's) paradise.  Silly me!

I am now awaiting delivery of a box set containing all four seasons of the Pros, for a third of what it would have cost me to buy them individually.   So what if they're Region 2?  I don't know why I was so hell-bent on getting R4 DVDs anyway - it's not like my player isn't multizone.

*happy sigh*

Now I'll need to flog my S1 on eBay....

Just got a notification from the library that a dvd set I had reserved has come in - The entire collection of Jeeves and Wooster.  WOOT!

If I didn't have the stupid plumber coming today to fix the stupid leaky pipes in the stupid flat upstairs (causing my stupid bathroom ceiling to leak), I'd go into the city today and pick it up.  Sadly, will have to wait until tomorrow or Friday. *pout*

I've been catching up on some old (mid-90s) Taggart.  The last two dvd sets I scored from the library had the episodes surrounding Stuart's coming out, and it's been quite interesting watching the progression unfold.  I'm sure I was a regular watcher of Taggart back then, but for some reason I seem to have missed a lot of these eps.

In "Angel Eyes", the episode where Stuart is "outed" by an obsessed ex (in the midst of gays being murdered left, right and centre), Jardine's reaction was...well, I'd expected better and I think it was done badly.  ( Rant and ramble under here... )

...sadly, I'm too poor to fly to London just to see John Simm in a play. *sigh* I'm too poor to fly to London for any reason. *bigger sigh* And my boss is flying to Scotland in two days. *enormous sigh*

But, on the bright side, only one more day of work and I'm on holidays for 2 weeks!
